Cards in Envy - Window Challenge

This week on Cards in Envy the theme is window cards.
Many people made cards with a real window so you can see to the inside of the card. I went another direction by creating a window pane style card.
I started with a white piece of cardstock and stamped the doily image in versamark and embossed in white embossing powder. The I took sponge daubers with and applied the ink colors of Summer Starfruit, Marina Mist and Wild Wasabi. I cut the piece into four pieces and applied to a black background. The words are embossed with white on black.

Thanks for looking and be sure to become a follower for a chance to win some goodies!

CTD Challenge

I really liked the colors on this week's Color Throwdown Challenge. Gray, Daffodil, Red, and Crumb Cake.

One of the new stamp sets in the SAB catalog is this cute one with "You Make Me Happy When Skies are Gray". It just seemed appropriate with the colors. I used a sponge to add some dimension.

Simple Sympathy Card

It seems that lately I have had to make up a lot of sympathy cards.
They are not my favorite type of card to make, but they should always be from the heart.
To create this card I used Gorgeous Grunge to make the back ground paper. I wanted to use some green and pink to be cheerful. The colors are Gumball Green and Strawberry Slush.

The floral image is from Backyard Basics. I stamped the image in black with Stazon ink and then colored in using Stamp-n- Write markers.

I would love to hear your feedback on this creation.
Also don't forget to become a follower of my blog. Next Saturday I will be picking one follower to get some goodies from me (SAB goodies!!).

Hostess Gift - Box and cards

Hello Stampers!
I wanted to show you a project I completed for an upcoming host. I wanted to create a box and card set. I went to one of my favorite places to get inspiration, Split Coast Stampers. There I found a pattern for the box.
Next I worked on using the scraps from the box to create 4 cards to go in the box.

I hope my hostess on Tuesday will like it. What do you think? I would love to hear your comments!

Cards in Envy Snowman Challenge

Cards in Envy Snowman Challenge
Lately it seems that challenges on other blogs have been my inspiration for being creative. This weekend is no exception. In looking for blogs with challenges, I look to see how many people participate and how long the blog has been running.
My goal in doing these challenges is to get a good blog base going, so that I can enter to be a design team member in June. So to help me achieve my goal, here is another blog challenge.

On Cards in Envy there are rules. You must be creating a A2 size card that will not require any additional postage. This week the challenge deals with snowmen. With it being the 40th straight week of snow here (not really, but it sure feels like it), it was a challenge to not be discouraged to see more snow. I paired my snowman with some manly papers, as I am going to be giving this card to my nephew to dog sitting tomorrow.
The stamp sets I used are both from the "Best Of" series from Stampin' Up!. The snowman is from the best of snow and the greeting from the best of greetings. Funny how that works :)
The button is less than 1/4" which is the size limit for the USPS for card thickness. How does she know this fact? My day job is Postmaster, so mail is my business.

I would love for you to be a follower of my blog. The first of February I am going to be giving away some goodies to one of my blog followers, so please click the follow blog on the sidebar so that you will be entered.
Thanks for looking, and Stamp Happy!

Color Throwdown Challenge - Fabulous Florets

Happy Saturday to everyone. The weather here in Northern Michigan has not changed in months. Basically snow and some sunshine. It's making people stir crazy and I fear cabin fever is going to be setting in soon.
I thought about using some snowflakes, or snowmen for this challenge, but I needed to see some flowers! Anything green right now is needed.
I used the stamp sets Fabulous Florets (123027 $17.95) and Best of Greeting (133485 $14.95). The image is actually stamped on tissue paper. I then wrinkled the tissue paper and glued to a piece of white paper. This gives a lot of dimension and just another layer to interest.
Thanks for checking out my submission for the challenge. Please let me know what you think.

My Paper Pumpkin

In December I received my month out from Stampin' Up called My Paper Pumpkin. When the kit arrived, I thought I really don't need a little album. Then I thought, but my cousin Jessica does for her first cruise vacation we are going on in February.

The kit didn't look like I wanted, so I got a little creative. Each kit tells you what colors are used, so that you can use items in your stash to change it up. So I covered the covers, added some additional pages.

Right now there is a great special for signing up for My Paper Pumpkin! You get a set of the 2012-2014 markers with your first kit.
I would love for you to get the creative fun each month. So please visit the site, sign up and select me as your demonstrator. My Paper Pumpkin

Color Throwdown challenge - Bootiful

The colors of this weeks color throwdown challenge immediately made my mind think Country Western. Now if you know me, I know NOTHING about country music, horses or cowboys (except that most cowboys look good from the back side).
So I had to really use my brian to think of how I could make a country inspired card.
I used the new Hardwood background stamp as well as stamps from the Bootiful Ocassions. The colors I used are : Tangerine Tango, Pool Party, Island Indigo, Crumb Cake and Whisper White.

Thanks for checking my blog for inspiration.

Wetlands manly birthday card

Cards for men always seem to trip up us women. It's hard not to have pretty colors, flowers and frilly stuff.  But man cards can be made. Think earth tones and things dudes like. My man likes to hunt, fish and complain about HGTV and the Food network.

I used burlap, Wetlands stamp set and tissue paper to create this card. We will be making this card in my monthly card class next Thursday.
There is still time to register for class.

Stamp of the Month - Peachy Keen

I am really loving the new stamp set Peachy Keen. I love it so much I decided to make it the January stamp of the month. This month for $20 you get the Peachy Keen set in clear mount and the wooden embellishments. If you want to add the On Film framelits, it's only $25 more! Here is another card I made using the sets. I also used one of the new pattern paper sets Retro Refresh.
I added some arrows to the inside, just to be playful.

Thanks for looking! Email me if you are interested in the stamp of the month. Stamp happy! Annie

Happy New Year! Mini Banners SAB

So today is a sneak peak of an item from the Sale-A-Bration that starts in mid January. If you like the banner stamp and punch set that is in the annual catalog, you are going to want to get this awesome bundle that is coming up. MINI BANNERS! and of course a matching punch.
I wish I could show you pictures of the actual product, but I can't until they go live. BUT I can show you items I create with the products!
I used the following colors: So Saffron, Primrose, Pink Pirouette, and Strawberry Slush. The card base is crumb cake. I then layered some So Saffron on top. Whisper White for the background and twine.
I ended up with a few extra banners, so I decided to put them on the inside to add a little something more.

I hope you enjoy today's stamping project. Come back tomorrow for another new item.
