Easter Wreath - Hearfelt Banner Kit

Today's post is something a little different.
I wanted to make a wreath for my home, but didn't have a form or any normal wreath supplies, so I went into the craft room and started to play.
Here is what I came up with.
I created the circle on the cardboard that comes in the back of a Designer Series paper pack. Then I hot glued the burlap ribbon on. Next I used some of the twine from the Sale-A-Bration Sweet Sorbet accessories pack. The banner was next and that is from the Heartfelt Banner kit.
The doilies came from the kit too, as well as the felted balls.
The flowers were made using the Spiral Flower die and some polar fleece. I used white and then sprayed them with reinker to match the colors of the Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral.
I wish my walls were a Honey Mustard color and then the photos would have turned out better.
Thanks for looking - and don't forget today is the last day of Sale-A-Bration.
You only have until midnight to place your order.

Color Throwdown - Easter Card

Here in Northern Michigan we are still wondering if we are going to have snow for Easter.
I know it's still 3 weeks away, but we still have large piles of that white stuff.
So to make things a little cheery today I created this card using the color scheme from this weeks Color Throwdown.
The Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzaz certainly do scream Spring.
And if it doesn't change soon I fear I will be screaming too!
I used the Your Lovely stamp set from Sale-A-Bration, Woodgrain and Teeny Tiny Wishes.
I embossed the expresso paper with Slate Grey as that was as close to the Sahara Sand as I could come. I used my blender pen and ink to color in the flowers.

Don't forget Sale-A-Bration ends on Monday!!
Be sure that you have purchased $50 to get your free item.
Check back on Monday to see a fun Easter project I made using the Heartfelt Banner Kit from Sale-A-Bration.

Vivid Vases Easter Cards

Today I am sharing two Easter cards I created using the Vivid Vases stamp. For the sentiment I used the Happy Easter from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

On this first card I stamped the vases part on scraps of paper from the Fresh Prints paper stack. Then I cut them out and adhered to the paper. I used a green marker to add some color to the leaves.
On this second card I used a marker to create the longer stems in the vases and used blues to create the illusion of water in the vases. I saw this technique on Pintrest and wanted to share with my followers.
I would love to see your Easter card creations.

Tye Dye Tissue Paper

Yesterday afternoon I was in the mood to play!
So I grabbed some things I had on hand and got a little messy.
Here are two cards I created with the directions on how I made the paper.

The top one I stamped the image on the paper and cut out and placed over the images stamped on white paper. The bottom I just cut into a few strips and then cut a sentiment.

Here is how I did it:
Tissue paper, water, reinkers, spritzer with water, White card-stock, paper towels, glue stick and brayer.
Start by wetting your tissue paper with water.
Next add drops of your reinkers onto the tissue paper
This is after all three colors.
Next spray with more water - you can even tip the paper to get more running.
Blot off extra water and ink with paper towels and dry.
I used my heat gun to dry the tissue paper - here's what it looked like when done
I crumpled the paper many times and then glued to a piece of card-stock using glue stick.
I then used a brayer to press the tissue into the glue. I cut the edges and started creating.
I hope you will try it with some fun color combinations.
Thanks for checking out this tutorial.

Thank you - Owl builder

Today I am sharing a card I made two weeks ago at a retreat my friend hosts. She has an amazing lodge on the top of a hill that overlooks the AuSable river valley. The views are spectacular and really inspires you to be creative.
I would love to say that I created the idea for
this card, but I cannot. I cased it from the web.
I love how he is peeking out of the tree. I don't actually own this punch, but you can be sure that it will be on my next order.

Happy St. Patty's Day

I totally copied this card from an image I found on Google. I wish I could tell you who made the original, but I don't know.
So here is a little punch art card for St. Patty's Day.
Can you figure out which punches I used?
It's the bird builder punch!! The whole bird is each side of the mustache and the eyebrows and nose are the wing! It's it just too cute!
I loved it when I saw it.
Before I saw this card, the best thing about St. P's day for me was corned beef and cabbage (which is a comfort food for me).
So I hope you enjoyed this posting.
Check back on Wednesday for another card!

Color Throwdown - Pa's Birthday Card

Today is my father-in-law's birthday. We call him "Pa". Whenever I need some help with a project at home, for example installing the new dishwasher, when hubby and I run into problems, we ask Pa for help.
He's a jack of all trades, had many different jobs, and like most fathers, knows everything.
So I figured I needed to make him a card to celebrate his birthday and his handyman know-how.

The colors I selected were based on this week's color throw-down challenge of Certainly Celery, Tangerine Tango and Basic Gray.

To create the background I used two pieces of metallic heat tape that I had purchased at the hardware store. I put in on a piece of gray cardstock and then ran through the Big Shot using the Hexagon embossing folder. The crescent wrenches are made using the word window, mini flower and 1" circle punches. The handle is a piece of gray 2.5" x 1/2". I used some black stazon ink to add some shading and to stamp the sentiment.
I think he is going to love this card.
Would love to hear your comments!
